Plasma Cutting Water Cooling System
The plasma cutting water cooling system is a forced cooling device specifically designed for high-current cutting guns above 60A. It efficiently dissipates the heat from the cutting gun and core components through circulating water. It is the core auxiliary system for medium and high-power cutting (supporting metal thickness > 20mm and load factor > 60%). Its cooling efficiency is 3-5 times that of air cooling, significantly reducing the heat-affected zone and improving plasma cutting accuracy and continuous operation capability.
I. Core Characteristics
- Efficient heat dissipation: Through forced convection of circulating water, it directly acts on vulnerable components such as electrodes and nozzles, preventing high-temperature oxidation or deformation, and extending the lifespan of electrodes by over 50%;
- Compatible with high power: Supports power supplies above 300A, meeting the requirements for long-term continuous cutting of medium-thick plates;
- Closed-loop control: Equipped with temperature and water pressure monitoring and protection functions. In case of abnormalities, it automatically cuts off the power supply to ensure the safety of the equipment.
II. Materials and Accessories
- Cooling medium: Mainly composed of deionized water or pure water, with the addition of rust inhibitors/freeze preventives to avoid impurities from clogging or the formation of scale;
- Core components: Include a circulating water pump, radiator, water pipes, water tank and water pressure sensor, forming a closed cooling loop;
- Cutting gun components: The electrodes are made of cast tungsten (or thorium tungsten, cerium tungsten), and the nozzles are selected from copper or hafnium alloy, which are resistant to high temperatures and oxidation.
III. Application and Maintenance
- Typical scenario: Long-duration operations such as medium-thick plate cutting (carbon steel/stainless steel > 10mm), automated CNC cutting, and ship/steel structure processing;
- Maintenance points: Regularly replace the coolant (suggested every 3 months), ensuring smooth pipeline flow; After replacing worn parts, discharge the remaining water to prevent short circuits.
